Mary Hatch Case was born in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Coming from a military family she had the opportunity to live in interesting places stateside.  She moved back to Gulfport in her preteen years and then went off to college where she met and married her husband, Robert Case.  Eventually they relocated to the Houston area where she continued to paint while raising two daughters. She lives and works near Austin, Texas.
